An overview of MC+A Google Search Appliance accelerators

July 26th, 2007

We are often asked about our accelerators and I thought it might be beneficial to provide an overview of our solutions here to better give you an idea of what we have current available and what we are working on.

Following is a short overview followed by some near future improvements.

The MC+A SharePoint Sitemap for Google Search Appliance (GSS)

This solution first made its appearance as a web part.  We found that the web part idea wasn’t the best idea to deploy such a consuming function.  It was later modified into a stand alone ASP.Net application.  We have versions that support SharePoint Portal Server 2001, 2003 and 2007.  We also have versions for SharePoint Teams Sites, Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 and 3.0.

In the very near future will we be adding the following features:

  • Multiple SharePoint sites support
  • Feed and Sitemap functionality
  • Testing links against our demo SharePoint site
  • Release of Web Parts to conduct searches

The MC+A Aqualogic Search for Google Search Appliance (GAS)

Our solution for Aqualogic integration allows BEA/Aqualogic content to be indexed.  We then have portlets so that you can conduct a search from within the Portal and not from standard GSA interface.  Additionally, we can issue a secure search so that the result set is filter prior to displaying to the end user.

We are waiting feedback currently before committing to further features.

The MC+A Exchange Crawler for Google Search Appliance

This is a solution that we have had for sometime in the closet but we have recently realized there might still be customers looking for such a crawler.  This tool can feed content into your Google Search Appliance.

We are investigating the demand for an Exchange 2007 version.

MC+A, A North America leader in technologies related to enterprise search, today is announcing the opening of its newest office in Rio De Janeiro. The new office will provide technology products, service and support to MC+A’s expanding customer base in Brazil, as well as global customers located throughout the Latin America region. Additionally, this office will serve as an off shore development house for MC+A in North America. This office expands MC+A’s global footprint and underscores the company’s standing as the leading figure implementing Google enterprise technologies.

Cristiano Nogueira will manage the company’s Brazilian office. He has more than 10 years of experience in the consumer applications market. The office will leverage MC+A’s North American network of resources to better serve customers.

“The ease of Google technology is something that Brazilians have come to enjoy. Combing Google technology with our implementation services is a dynamite combination. MC+A is the only company in Brazil with the expertise in this area to do so.” – Cristiano.

MC+A is always looking to form alliances with other company that will extend our reach into areas that would otherwise be difficult to market in. We have begun working with several companies and are continuing to look at more companies, particularly in the northern area and Brasilia.
